Michigan Personal Injury Torts (formerly Michigan Torts) has been on the shelves of Michigan practitioners for more than 30 years, summarizing the most important aspects of tort law from the standpoint of Michigan’s extensive body of cases and statutes. The treatise is also updated annually to bring the most recent developments in tort law to Michigan practitioners in an expedient manner.
Included in the discussion of Michigan tort law are the main topics of intentional torts, malpractice, premises liability, products liability, and automobile liability. But the treatise goes beyond this to focus on developments in specific areas, such as application of the “open and obvious” rule, statutes of limitation, attorney responsibility, frivolous lawsuits, insurance company responsibility, uninsured and underinsured motorists, case evaluation, and sanctions.
