Handling Business Tort Cases is a comprehensive manual for lawyers who litigate cases involving business torts, defined as torts that arise from the provision of goods and/or services to others or to the improper interference or hindrance of such provisions of goods and/or services. The book is divided into three basic sections: First, it examines background issues, such as how contracts interact with business torts and how such torts can be a part of business litigation strategy. This section includes information on how insurance, trial procedure, and matters beyond the basic facts of the case can affect a case in which business torts will play a part Second, it examines the individual torts and discusses the relevant law and issues for each tort, providing practice guidance and sample litigation/practice forms Lastly and uniquely, it provides a fictionalized, detailed case study where contract issues and business torts both come into play, using many of the torts and concepts in this book. The case study also provides a large set of pleadings and forms that accompany the text to demonstrate in tangible form how such a case works and the tactical and strategic decisions that must be made
