Jorge de Cardenas

Jorge de Cardenas serves as senior vice president of information technology at American Campus Communities Inc. He serves as board president for The Austin School for the Performing and Visual Arts. Prior to joining American Campus, he served as director of product management for Emerging Technologies at Visa. Mr. de Cardenas began his career developing software for NASA at Lockheed Engineering and Science. From 1991 to 1994, he was co-founder and principal consultant of Everest Technologies Inc., an oil and gas IT consulting firm that was sold to SAIC Inc. Between 1994 and 2000, he served in various capacities at technology startup companies. He received a B.S. in computer science with specializations in mathematics and management from Texas A&M University.
