David E. Leta

Leta is a partner in the Salt Lake City law firm of Snell & Wilmer, L.L.P., where his practice concentrates on bankruptcy litigation, business reorganizations, and creditor rights. He is a graduate of the State University of New York at Binghamton where he graduated with High Honors. He received his J.D. degree from the University of Utah College of Law (now S.J. Quinney College of Law at the University of Utah). Leta is a member of the American Bar Association, the Utah State Bar (organizer and first chairman of the Bankruptcy Section), and the American Bankruptcy Institute and is a Fellow in the American College of Bankruptcy. He is admitted to practice before the U.S. Supreme Court, the U.S. courts of appeals for the Ninth and Tenth Circuits, the U.S. District Court in Utah, the U.S. Tax Court, and the Supreme Court of Utah.

Since 1995, Leta has been continuously recognized by his peers in Woodward/White, Inc., as one of the Best Lawyers in America. He has also been recognized in Corporate Counsel as one of the leading bankruptcy lawyers in the country, in Utah Business for multiple years as one of the ‘‘Utah 100 Legal Elite,’’ and in Who’s Who International–Insolvency Practitioners. He has been named as a ‘‘superlawyer’’ in Super Lawyers, Intermountain Region. From 2004–2008, Leta served as the co-chair of the ABI Rocky Mountain Bankruptcy Conference and he has been a presenter and lecturer at numerous seminars and continuing legal education programs.
