Lisel M.  Ferguson

Lisel M. Ferguson is a senior counsel at Procopio, Cory, Hargreaves & Savitch LLP. Ms. Ferguson’s practice focuses on copyright, trademark, patent prosecution and intellectual property litigation. She is admitted to practice before all the Courts in the State of California, the US District Court for the Northern District, Central District and Southern District. Ms. Ferguson is also admitted to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office. Ms. Ferguson was born in Madison, Wisconsin and spent most of her youth abroad in Germany and the Philippines before arriving in Monterey and finally San Diego, California. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology with two minors in Psychology and Photography from the University of California, San Diego. Ms. Ferguson received her law degree from the University of San Diego School of Law, where she was president of the Environmental Law Society. Prior to practicing law, Ms. Ferguson spent over five years working full time in the professional fields of science and biology. She worked for Scripps Institute of Oceanography, UCSD and an International Environmental Group where she assisted with numerous professorial level and Ph.D. research projects in addition to co-authoring scientific journal articles. Prior to joining Procopio, Ms. Ferguson handled a broad range of Intellectual Property matters for the San Diego law firm of Perkins & Miltner, where her practice also focused on environmental, business and equine litigation. Ms. Ferguson is a member of the San Diego County Bar Association, the American Bar Association, and the San Diego Intellectual Property Society.
