This publication provides the official regulations of the Radiologic Health Branch as issued in Title 17 (Public Health) of Barclays Official California Code of Regulations (CCR). The Radiologic Health Branch is within the Radiation Safety and Environmental Management Division of the Department of Public Health. It enforces the laws and regulations designed to protect the public, radiation workers, and the environment. The Radiologic Health Branch is responsible for providing public health functions associated with administering a radiation control program. Topics include:

• Licensing of radioactive materials
• Registration of X-ray producing machines
• Certification of medical, industrial X-ray, and radioactive material users
• Inspection of facilities using radiation
• Investigation of radiation incidents
