Use Dollar Verdicts: Personal Injury when faced with presenting or defending a claim for personal injury. It provides collections of cases, sorted by jurisdiction, involving similar injuries as a gauge for predicting what triers of fact will determine in future cases, judicial review for excessiveness, or inadequacy of determinations made by the triers of fact.
Summaries of reported personal injury cases are arranged by the action taken by the reviewing courts. Cases include details on amounts awarded, the injuries sustained, and the circumstances of the incident. Older cases provide a total dollar amount awarded and a brief description of the accident and injury. There are references to related medical texts and ALR annotations. A comprehensive case index by plaintiff's occupation and punitive damages awarded is included, along with other research practice aids.
