Thomas D'Amore is a dedicated trial lawyer and staunch defender of the civil justice system. With 25 years of experience, he maintains his practice in Oregon, Washington, and California and represents clients nationally. Mr. D'Amore's law firm D'Amore Law Group, represent individuals and their families in catastrophic personal injury, wrongful death, class actions, insurer bad faith, complex business litigation, and bank fraud.

As a board certified trial attorney with the National Board of Trial Advocacy, Tom has devoted his career to plaintiff's work. Mr. D'Amore has been selected by his peers as one of the Top 50 lawyers in the state of Oregon (Super Lawyers); is listed in Best Lawyers; and AV Preeminent rated for the highest ethical standards and professional ability (Martindale-Hubbell). Before attending law school, Tom began his career as a Certified Public Accountant, practicing with a Big 8 accounting firm. He attended Pepperdine University School of Law and practiced corporate litigation and corporate bankruptcy following law school, while also teaching prospective CPAs in an evening and weekend review course for the CPA exam.

As a trial lawyer, Tom is dedicated to service in the plaintiff's bar. He was elected to the national Board of Governors of the American Association for Justice (AAJ), formerly ATLA, in Washington, D.C. Mr. D'Amore currently chairs AAJ's Budget Committee and sits on various AAJ committees. He is a former chair of AAJ's inaugural Audit Committee and is former chair of AAJ's Motor Vehicle Collision, Highway and Premises Liability Section and former chair of AAJ's Retirement Committee. Tom is a proud member of AAJ Leaders Forum, AAJ PAC Trustee and National Finance Counsel member.

After serving in all officer positions of the Oregon Trial Lawyers Association (OTLA), Tom served as president of OTLA in 2010-2011. Mr. D'Amore is a current Board of Governors member of OTLA. He currently sits on Budget Committee of OTLA and has served and chaired various committees of OTLA. Mr. D'Amore is an Eagle member of the Washington Association of Justice. Mr. D'Amore sits on the Board of Directors of the Oregon Law Institute, an organization that educates Oregon lawyers.

Mr. D'Amore has written several articles and presented to numerous organizations on trial practice, insurance law, the business of law, and so-called tort reform. He has authored a chapter in Anatomy of a Personal Injury Lawsuit, 4th Edition, Oregon State Bar Civil Practice and Procedures (DME chapter), Oregon Trial Lawyers' Motor Vehicle Deskbook, and together with Ken Levinson is the new update author for this AAJ Press title. Outside of his law practice, Tom also serves on the Board of Directors of Good Deeds, a non-profit organization that helps families burdened with medical debt from illnesses and injuries.

Tom lives outside Portland, in West Linn, Oregon, a suburb of Portland. He has been married to his wife Lisa for 27 years and has three college age children. Mr. D'Amore spent many years coaching youth sports including football, basketball and baseball. He enjoys spending time with his family, traveling with Lisa, trying new restaurants, attending sport events, playing softball and basketball, and running. (November 2015)
