    The late Judge James P. Buchele was a District Judge in Topeka since 1981. Immediately prior to his appointment, Judge Buchele was United States Attorney for Kansas for four years. He has also served on congressional staff and four terms in the Kansas

    Elrod is a Distinguished Professor of Law at Washburn University in Topeka, Kansas, where she has taught since 1974. In the fall of 2002, she became the Director of the Children and Family Law Center. In 1979 she was named the William O. Douglas Outstanding
