    Betty Blackwell

    Blackwell is an attorney in Austin, Texas, specializing in criminal defense. She received a B.A., summa cum laude, from Texas A&M University and a J.D. with honors from the University of Texas Law School. She is board certified in criminal law by 

    Hon. Michael J. McCormick, Presiding Judge, Court of Criminal Appeals, Retired

    Retired as Presiding Judge of the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals on December 31, 2000. He was first elected to that post in a statewide election in 1988 after serving seven years as judge of that court. He was reelected as Presiding Judge in 1994.
